Doing this is very much not advised, as the kernel is very closely tied to the rest of the distro. However, were you to insist on doing so, you're going to have to wrestle with anaconda in getting this kernel to work. The build scripts for iso generation are posted on the mirrors, and should be a reasonable reference for you.
