[CentOS] Livecd question

I feel a litle foolish, having to bother the list with
a dumb question.
 I used the livecd for a while a few months ago and
was able to save my configuration changes between
sessions. I was away doing other things for a while
and now I can't remember the commands to store and
retrieve the changes, nor have I been able to find 
the instructions on how to do that after several days
looking.
 Apreciate any help.
