[CentOS] [Centos 5] minimum RAM required to install : 1GB ?

Probably it's yum that is the problem. Anaconda now uses yum.

Upgrading my laptop (C1200, 256 Mb) from FC3 to 5 took a good twelve 
hours, then performed so badly I replaced 128 Mbytes of RAM with 512.
