cat /proc/scsi/scsi lists all 'scsi' devices (including native SATA, 
fiberchannel, and other such things), while cat /proc/ide/hd*/model  
will list IDE devices (including SATA running in emulation mode)


[root at rp18 ~]# cat /proc/ide/hd*/model
SAMSUNG CDRW/DVD SN-324F
[root at rp18 ~]# cat /proc/scsi/scsi
