[CentOS] A quick question about ./configure

One cause for this sort of misleading error can be
found in the first line of the configure script.  It
will normally be #!zzzz  where zzzz is the path to 
some interpreter.  Often /bin/bash.  If the target
of that path is not found, you will get the above

Another possibility is if the execute bit is not
set on ./configure.
