Fix that problem, with what's available for CentOS 5.2. The motto here
is, "if you break it, it is yours to fix". If you bring something into
that system that breaks it, it will be your problem to resolve, by
yourself.

That is the best advice you will get. Fix your problem. Use rpms that
are recommended here. Don't break your system, fix it. Ask for ideas
about how you can fix your problem. GL
