It is possible that this will not run properly on your laptop. If not, you may want to consider a bleeding edge distro, like Fedora or Ubuntu, which will probably support a lot more hardware.Try running a "Live CD", with whatever distro you contemplate using, to see if it will run on your HW, before installing.
