[CentOS] VNC server problem

hi i remove the packeges vnc and vnc-server and
reinstalled newly using yum install vnc
and yum install vnc-server
it got installed then
i started the service
it displayed
/sbin/service vncserver restart
Shutting down VNC server: [ OK ]
Starting VNC server: no displays configured [ OK ]
then i typed
[root at localhost .vnc]# vncviewer localhost.localdomain:5901
it promps the password
but again the same black screen with cursor is displayed
what to do ...
