It's usually not a good idea to connect a tape drive to a
raid controller. The 6400 is made to be connected to something
like a MSA20/MSA30 (JBOD SCSI shelf)

Send the output of the command 'dmesg'.

But I think you need to get another SCSI card to connect the
tape drive to.
