On a 5.1 machine ready for 5.2:

# yum update >/tmp/update.log

# yum upgrade >/tmp/upgrade.log
n
# diff /tmp/update.log /tmp/upgrade.log

Looks to me that update==upgrade.

Why does the announcement of 5.2 say it is important
to use "yum upgrade"?
