Promise VTRAK J610sS?

We use it with Solaris and ZFS - I'm not too keen on using LVM on more 
than a handful of disks.
IMO, 16 disks is probably the minimum to get some decent non-linear 
performance out of SATA.

If you have the money, you can go for a SUN J4500 ;-)
