I forgot to mention this is an x86_64 machine. Sometime somewhere back several months ago, the centos plus kernel got installed, and I didn't notice it until just recently. It's not in use. I understand there are some i386 packages already installed, and at one point, I thought I had set yum up to only pull down the x8_64 packages, but I suppose something got changed in the yum.repos.d files somewhere along the way.
