[CentOS] hplip problems - configure: error: "cannot find libjpeg support"

Anne et al.,
I have been out for a while.  Has any resolution to this occurred.  I am 
still interested in it working correctly
even though I seem to have a "kludge" sort of working, i.e. I can scan & 
print, no fax but I can live with that.
