Well, I love to make people laugh so I'll chime in here. I do use Fedora for some hosting, and I'm very happy with it for that purpose. The reason I like it better is that the packages are more up-to-date. Not bleeding edge, but more current. I'd rather let Fedora manage my mediaWiki installation rather than deal with the updates myself. The trick is that you have to accept that you'll be reinstalling it in a year. With puppet and a little discipline, that's not a big deal. Spin up a new VM, get things running, and switch over DNS.
