Also, your iptables rule on the virtual machine is right now: iptables -A INPUT -i eth0 tcp -s 192.168.7.67 --dport 111 -j ACCEPT and I think it should be iptables -A INPUT -i eth0 tcp -s 192.168.56.X --dport 111 -j ACCEPT where 192.168.56.X is your vboxnet0 ip. But again, I am not familiar with VirtualBox and it might have settings different than vmware or kvm.
