Yeah. mine doesn't. are you using a pre-built mplayer from somewhere,
or one you compiled yourself? I have this one:
# rpm -qa | grep -y mplayer
mplayer-fonts-1.1-3.0.rf
mplayer-codecs-20061022-1
mplayer-1.0-0.41.svn20090711.el5.rf
mplayer-codecs-extra-20061022-1
mplayerplug-in-3.55-1.el5.rf
