[CentOS] Best way to hold at 5.3 release

As long as 5.3 is on the mirrors, you can "just" change your Base.repo
file. But you won't get *any* security or other updates that way.

$releasever is "5" and centos/5/ is a link to centos/5.4/ on the mirrors.
