But how to start agust not created with virt-install
E.g a downloaded image

Why is this third step needed?

Isn't it enough to simply add a network interface to the guest with br0 as
source? (that's how I'm currently proceeding)

e.g.:
		<interface type='bridge'>
			<mac address='yy:yy:yy:yy:yy:yy' />
			<source bridge='br0' />
			<model type='virtio' />
		</interface>
