You might be able to make the CD/DVD drive ro, with something like this in your /etc fstab file: # DVD-RW drive VOM-12E48X - Fedora 12 example /dev/sr0 /media/dvdrecorder iso9660 ro,user,noauto,unhide 0 0 >From the mount(8) man page: The non-superuser mounts. Normally, only the superuser can mount filesystems. However, when fstab contains the user option on a line, anybody can mount the corresponding system.
