Thats not true at all. Ksplice works fine with CentOS-5 ( or even 4 for that matter, its just a case of how much effort one is ready to put into the process). Imho, C4 is at a point where this would not be of much interest now. But C5 is very much live out there. And Marian has already had limited success with this.
