You are special case user, not many even heard of those apps, let alone 
use them.

Thunderbird is decent news reader. There is rather old version in base 
repo and 8.0.1 in Remi's repository (I am glad he decided to package 
them for EL 6 also, I had to rebuild his packages my self for my own repo).
