The CentOS 4.8 kernel I have (2.6.9-89.0.16.EL) does not have
CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN set:

sauron.deepsoft.com% grep LUN /boot/config-2.6.9-89.0.16.EL
CONFIG_PREEMPT_VOLUNTARY=y
# Some SCSI devices (e.g. CD jukebox) support multiple LUNs
# CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN is not set

But the CentOS 5.5 kernel (-2.6.18-194.26.1.el5) does:

sauron.deepsoft.com% grep LUN /boot/config-2.6.18-194.26.1.el5
CONFIG_PREEMPT_VOLUNTARY=y
# Some SCSI devices (e.g. CD jukebox) support multiple LUNs
CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN=y
