I also do the same with my R2D2 Droid ie connect thru VPN. I don't trust other peoples network too much. View most as the seedy part of town where I make sure my doors are locked when I park. Most of the time tho, I just use Artoo's wifi hotspot for wifi access for the iPad and VPN traffic on the iPad. Tommy C.
