[CentOS] doing a new install on top of existing software raid-1

this was NOT the live dvd:

	CentOS-6.2-x86_64-bin-DVD1.iso

and in my original post, when I said "...knows something about
linux hardware raid..." I had meant to say "software raid". DUH.
