I was stuck with some version of Solaris 5, expired support and no
free bug fixes.

At some point, our mailserver broke and I copied the sendmail configs
over to a linux box, restored some backups to it and never looked
back.    Wasn't really happy with RH until 7.3, but that was rock
solid.
