[CentOS] Strange messages after installing Quad-core processor

I had an AMD box that started reporting time going backwards. Turned out 
the heatsink was loose because the retainer tab cracked off - cpu 
continuously cycled thru overheat, throttle down, overheat, throttle 
down, etc.
