I have a certain software on CentOS 6.4 that gave the following error: X Error of failed request: BadName (named color or font does not exist) Major opcode of failed request: 45 (X_OpenFont) Serial number of failed request: 15 Current serial number in output stream: 30 Running strace shows that the error happens just about here: writev(4, [{"-\2\21\0\4\0\240\0027\0\240\2-adobe-helvetica-bol"..., ... I thought some fonts were missing from my system, so I went on to insall all xorg-x11-fonts-* packages on my system. The Adobe fonts should be included in the xorg-x11-fonts-75dpi package. I thought the fonts may not be in the fonts path, so I ran xset q. The fonts seemed to be in the X font path. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
