in firefox, go to Options, General, and paste in the URL for the home
page, OK...
or, look in $HOME/.mozilla/firefox/profiles.ini and find the Path= in
the default profile, and go to that directory, prefs.js, and look for
the line ... add your URL there.
user_pref("browser.startup.homepage", "<SOMEURLHERE>");
