[CentOS] transparent_huge_pages problem (again?)

Hi,
I've experiencing problems with 6.5 guests on a 6.4 host when running 
hadoop with transparen_huge_pages enabled. As soon as I disable that 
feature everything returns to normal.

I'm posting here because this issue cam up in the past:

That bug was closed with "resolved in EL6.4" but now it seems to have 
returned.

Apparently there exists an old bug (presumably resolved) upstream here:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=805593

Since I don't have access to it I'm not sure what the current state is.

What are my options here? Should I reopen the CentOS bug above or should 
I file a new one upstream?
