Sorry, that should be yum groupinstall 'GNOME desktop' or possibly 'GNOME
Desktop'.  The @gnome-desktop-environment is right though. 

To find the exact name

yum grouplist -v |grep -i gnome

which will give you something  like GNOME Desktop
(gnome-desktop-environment)
