[CentOS] How to compile APUE code on centos 6.X

I tried to install libbsd before, it didn't work.(I can execute man 
heapsort)
Today, I installed epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm and then yum install 
libbsd,(No result for man heapsort) but it still doesn't work.
