[CentOS] New monitor weirdnesses (CentOS 5.11)

Robert:

A few years back I had a similar problem when switching from an OLD monitor to a new one.

I found the problem to be that I was still attempting to use the OLD VGA cable which apparently
did not have the wires in it to pass the monitor capabilities back to the video card. As soon as
I switched to the cable that came with the new one the system properly detected the new monitor
and all was well.
