My point in mentioning the transmission location is to show that it’s probably a thousand km or more from wherever you are, since the spots in the US within the 1000 km radius are some of the least populous parts of the US. When most people think of “radio,” they think of the towers on the big hill just outside of town, or the faux palm tree concealing the cell phone transmitter a mile down the road. WWVB is in a different sub-class of “radio” from those two.
