[CentOS] Short or long hostname ?

How I do it ( and always done it):
hostnamectl set-hostname foobar.localdomain
echo 127.0.0.1 foobar.localdomain foobar >> /etc/hosts
echo ::1 foobar.localdomain foobar >> /etc/hosts
