[CentOS] Mate on Centos 7

If Mate won't be (or may not be?) supported by EPEL, has anyone looked 
at similar alternatives?

I came across 'Cinnamon' (which is available from EPEL) - does anyone 
have experience of Cinnamon (good/bad/otherwise) ?
