I can play CDs and listen to YouTube on the host, so I'm assuming the
hardware is fine.

I've tried "adding hardware", specifically a virtual sound card, to the VMs, but still they remain silent. How do I connect the virtual sound cards to the physical sound card so that I can hear the music?
