This is weird ... isn't there something weird about your 
configuration? NFS, SELinux, screwed up rights on /var/log -- 
I have never seen the error like this.

I talked with Dave Airlie about this and his conclusion was that 
most likely RHEL/CentOS 5.2 won't work with your card, but 5.3 
should. If you are willing to try Beta, then it should be 
available from 
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/beta/RHEL5.3/

(of course, there is no support, it is beta, no upgrades, 
yadayadayada).  For more information see announcement at
