He wrote it's after grub which means it's something else and the basic
thing is to disable any LOGO and post screens on centos to see if there
is a basic output from the kernel while starting up the system.
it might hang a bit On a specific stage and will show it in the logs
after a successful boot.
How about network activity during this black screen time?
