Request for start-avm package git and dist-git

Hi, I would like to request adding the `start-avm` package to Automotive SIG. The package has been developed within the Automotive SIG Solutions & Integrations team by @Sergio Lopez Pascual <slp(a)redhat.com> and contains tools to start Android Automotive OS as guest on AutoSD. Upstream sources are currently available on https://github.com/slp/start-avm . I'd like start-avm repository to be created under https://gitlab.com/CentOS/automotive/src and under https://gitlab.com/CentOS/automotive/rpms in order to host both the sources and the rpm dist-git under the Automotive SIG. Gitlab repository issue tracker

Hello, I would like to ask what the group thinks about creating a repository in gitlab to track all upstream issues for the Automotive SIG. This would allow us to have a single source of truth for all upstream issues and make whatever issue tracker integration that needs to be done easier as well. Request for initoverlayfs in SIG RPM repository

Hi, I would like to request adding an initoverlayfs RPM to the automotive-sig RPM repository. This package is required for integrating initoverlayfs such as in the pending merge request: https://gitlab.com/CentOS/automotive/sample-images/-/merge_requests/457 initoverlayfs allows you to run larger applications in early boot initial file systems. By using transparent compression and transparent integrity checking it ensures these operations only occur when a file is accessed. Rather than in initramfs when this is done upfront to the whole initial filesystem for all the data regardless of whether the data is used or not. Is mise le meas/Regards, Eric Curtin

NOTICE: osbuild copr change for sample-images

The sample-images images used to rely on the @osbuild/osbuild copr repo, which is a development snapshot of osbuild. Starting today we now rely on the new @osbuild/osbuild-stable repo instead which only has the latest stable release in it. All users of sample-images are recommended to switch to this new copr, and all the internal references in sample-images (such as the devel image) has been changed. Request for kmod-memscav in SIG RPM repository

Hi, I would like to submit a request for the addition of a src-git and dist-git to the automotive-sig. In order to achieve better KPI, we have experimented with an out-of-tree module[1] that uses the firmware provided memory layout (DT or UEFI) to recover memory that was limited at boot later during the bootstrap. Once the module is loaded, it exposes a sysfs entry that allows, for example, systemd services[2] to recover the excluded memory by size at different points of the bootstrap. Request for polarsys-b612-fonts

Hi, I would like to request adding polarsys-b612-fonts to AutoSD. Commissioned by Airbus and designed by Intactile Design, B612 is a digital font intended to be used in an aeronautical context. B612 is built with legibility as its core: every character is designed to be highly recognizable even in critical reading conditions. B612 drawing has been optimized for screen display, and full hinting has been added to all sizes of alphanumeric characters. It's used on airplane cockpits, so within the digital cockpit team we think it makes sense to have it available for automotive cockpits as well. The polarsys-b612-fonts package is already available in Fedora. If approved, can you please add the polarsys-b612-fonts repo on https://gitlab.com/CentOS/automotive/rpms ? Request for greenboot-qcom in SIG RPM repository

Hi, I would like to request adding a greenboot-qcom RPM to the automotive-sig RPM repository. It would hold the systemd services and wrappers for integrating Qualcomm A/B slot boot tools with Greenboot. Greenboot[1] allows convenient vendor specific extensions for running system health-checks and running specific actions upon success or failure of the system bootstrap. On some Qualcomm boards that support A/B slot booting, a vendor tool (abctl), can be available to report a successful boot to the firmware. Deprecation of /latest build for AutoSD

Hi all, We plan to remove the /latest build [1] in the AutoSD web server as part of a simplification to our build artefacts. Originally we were managing the AutoSD content with a gitops style workflow and using a file in a git repository to pin the versions of packages we would include in the yum repo. At that time, the /latest artefact reflected the builds that were triggered on updates to that repository, giving it the newest content possible. Since then we've refactored our pipelines to use the more traditional koji tags to manage that content and shifted focus to having a nightly build that reflects the latest content instead. The /latest build was reduced to only being updated when changes occurred to the pungi configuration which is an uncommon event. As part of a recent refactoring on our side, we've deprecated the update process for the /latest builds and the files are no longer updated starting from the 24th of August, 2023. Since we do not see a need for it any longer, we will be removing it by the 11th of September, 2023. We consider the /nightly build [2] to be its replacement. Should this be problematic for you, please let us know. Otherwise all you likely have to do to migrate is change the url from [1] to [2]. Thanks for your understanding. AutoSD web server degraded

Hi, The web server [1] that hosts the AutoSD builds (yum repos, sample-images, etc) is currently in a degraded state. The content in the latest nightly build for AutoSD is in an incomplete state. This is due to a lack of disk space that has impacted the synchronisation between the s3 buckets and the server. This may affect osbuild operations that use the AutoSD yum repos. We are working on scaling up the server now but this may result in a brief outage of the web server. We will let you know once the service has fully recovered (hopefully in a couple of hours).
