bash: Globale aliase in /etc/profile.d/*.sh definieren

Hallo zusammen, gibt es einen Weg, zuverlaessig globale Aliase fuer bash in /etc/profile.d/*.sh oder /etc/profile zu definieren? Fuer csh/tcsh funktioniert das bestens, aber die Aliase fuer bash sind in X11 Terminals nicht sichtbar, allerdings funktionieren sie in SSH- und Text-Terminal-Sessions /etc/profile: -bash-3.2$ cat /etc/profile [...] alias zentralias="echo Hello World" -bash-3.2$ SSH-Session: -bash-3.2$ zentralias Hello World -bash-3.2$ Text-Terminal Session: -bash-3.2$ zentralias Hello World -bash-3.2$ Terminal im Desktop bash-3.2$ zentralias bash: zentralias: command not found bash-3.2$ ??? In /etc/profile definierte Variablen sind in allen drei Sitzungstypen sichtbar. Fuer csh/tcsh definierte Aliase funktionieren ebenfalls fuer alle drei Sitzungstypen. Irgendeine Idee? frank

local yum repo

i followed a howto to create a local repo. when i open the gui 'add/remove software' and choose 'software sources' there is an inactive entry for my new local repo, but it refuses to get activated. when i try to install manually `yum install xxx` i get following error : file:///share/Centos/6/local/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] Could not open/read file:///share/Centos/6/local/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml owner root.root mod 544 (as described in howto) what is yum`s identitiy (euid/egid) ??? thanks in advance andreas

Problem mit D-Bus

Hallo, ich möchte gerne aus meiner .procmailrc ein Script aufrufen das mir dann einen "/usr/bin/notify-send" auslöst. Also eine Benachrichtung anzeigt. Mein Script ist soweit fertig und ich kann es ausführen. Daraufhin wird auch schön die Benachrichtigung angezeigt. mache ich das ganze dann aus .procmailrc, sieht so aus: | perl /opt/sbin/mailnotify.pl Ich will also die Mail in mein Script pipen und dann damit arbeitehn. lasse ich es dann laufen, dann kommt in meiner Procmail Logdatei diese Meldung: process 6975: D-Bus library appears to be incorrectly set up; failed to read machine uuid: Failed to open "/var/lib/dbus/machine-id": Permission denied See the manual page for dbus-uuidgen to correct this issue. D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace Ein bisschen googlen hat mich hierzu geführt: http://www.torkwrench.com/2011/12/16/d-bus-library-appears-to-be-incorrectl… Leider hilft bei mir die Eingabe von: dbus-uuidgen > /var/lib/dbus/machine-id sowohl als root als auch als Bentzer nichts :-( Kann mir jemand sagen was ich falsch mache? Muss ich evtl. irgendwie den dbus neustarten? Ich nutze centos 6.4 Dankeschön. -- thanks + bye ajh

Hallo Liste, da ich stolzer Besitzer eines Raspberry Pis bin, möchte ich diesen gerne in eine dicke Tastatur mit Touchpad integrieren. Quasi als Casemod im C64 style. syslog timestamp mit Jahresangabe?

Hallo zusammen, gibt es eine Moeglichkeit, den Timestamp in syslog-Logs um das Jahr zu ergaenzen oder muss ich dazu auf ein anderes Logtool (syslog-ng o.ae.) umsteigen? Einige unserer Logs erstrecken sich ueber mehrere Jahre und nur mit Datum und Uhrzeit ist es manchmal etwas muehsam herauszufinden, wann etwas passiert ist oder eine sonstige Auswertung zu machen. Ich weiss, ich koennte mit Logrotation arbeiten oder das Jahr irgendwie im Logtext unterbringen. Das will ich alles *nicht*, also bitte auch nicht vorschlagen :-) Gruss frank

Jenau. Same procedure wie jedes Jahr: Irgendjemand hier Lust am Stand auf dem Linuxtag auszuhelfen? Wir suchen noch Leute, bevor wir entscheiden, dort mit einem Stand vertreten zu sein. Wer Lust hat, darf sich gerne bei mir melden :) Siehe http://linuxtag.org/ für mehr Infos, zum besseren Planen: Der Linuxtag findet vom 22. bis zum 25. Mai 2013 in Berlin statt. grubby fatal error: unable to find a suitable template

Hi Following problem: i have a VDS and just installed a regular CentOS 6.0 Image which was shown by the provider in the web UI. After installing and doing a yum update i got: Installing : kernel-2.6.32-279.19.1.el6.x86_64 139/327 grubby fatal error: unable to find a suitable template Updating : lldpad-0.9.43-20.el6_3.x86_64 140/327 When i now enable some other repository like elrepo this will totaly destroy my machine. Also, whatever changes the grub.conf to the newest kernel, isnt doing that, because it will still start the old kernel. Any ideas except changing the provider? Thanks :)
