Hi,
The centos.org home page says CentOS-3 is based on Redhat Enterprise Linux 3 ES. Would I be able to run >2 processors and >8GB memory on CentOS-3 (what RHEL _AS_ supports), or am I limited to what RHEL ES supports?
Thank you for your time.

My yum update for CentOS-2 started to fail a while ago.
http://mirror.centos.org/centos-2/updates/headers/header.info mentions this
line:
1:IBMJava2-JRE-1.3.1-10.i386=i386/IBMJava2-JRE-1.3.1-10.i386.rpm
But that file doesn't seem to exist anywhere. So I end up with this error
and it exits.
getting /var/cache/yum/update/headers/IBMJava2-JRE-1-1.3.1-10.i386.hdr
Error getting file
http://mirror.centos.org/centos-2/updates//headers/IBMJava2-JRE-1-1.3.1-10.i
386.hdr
[Errno 6] ERROR: Url Return no Content-Length - something is wrong
Please help me understand how I can fix this. Or if it's just a bad
header.info on the mirrors?
Thanks!

Thanks to whomever fixed the header.info file. It's working better now.

I've recently added a tool to Mezzanine (www.kainx.org/mezzanine/)
called "specgen" for generating spec files from source tarballs. You
might want to give that a try. And if you have any problems, let me
know so I can fix them. :)

That might be a nice option for a testing branch, but wouldn't implementing
a 2.6 kernel option go against the Centos 3 objective of reimplementing RHEL
3? Some of the 2.6 kernel enhancements have been backported in the Redhat
EL kernel, if I understand correctly. Check out:
