Hi, I do seem to have a slight problem with upgrading two of our machines to CentOS (from SuSE, but that doesn't really matter). Both systems are IBM x-Series 360 with a ServeRaid controller for the "internal" hard disks an a QLogic QLA2200 fibre channel controller for an external stack of disks. On SuSE (kernel 2.4.26) the ServeRaid is controller 0 (resulting in the internal Raid Array being /dev/sda) and the QLogic controller is controller 1 (with the external disks being /dev/sdb). With CentOS (yes, I did an unattended kickstart install) the QLogic is recognized as the first controller, the ServeRaid as the second, so CentOS is installed on the external disks (which kills the database residing there). Is there any possibility (be it software or hardware if anyone knows the x360) to tell CentOS, that the ServeRaid controller has to be recognized as the first controller and the QLogic as the second? This goes for installation *and* operation later on, by way of a kernel command line or whatever. Hello, I try to install Centos 3 U4, to test if the bug is present as under Gralinux AS 3 (an other clone of Redhat AS 3) and yes ... this bug is there. When I try to install the Centos3U4, I choose French keyboard (azerty) , French language: no problem. But after, when want to enter the root passord, or edit the name of a partition with diskdruid the keyboard is still in US qwerty. Problem during install of 3.4

I am having a problem during install of centos 3.4 I am getting an error which says: "The partition table on device /dev/sdb is of unexpected type loop for your architecture. Do you want to reinitialize the drive?" Searching google i found: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=90635 Which was from a while ago and its currently in closed status with no resolution provided?? Does anyone have any more info about this? I currently have FC3 installed on this machine and /dev/sdb is indeed working just fine. sdb is a sata drive connected to a promise controller on my motherboard. sda is also connected to this controller and it gets detected just fine. Any ideas? Thanks. -Jim

Modprobe errors during startup on CentOS 3.4

Hi, I am getting loads of modprobe errors flying past on the screen during startup.. I never got these errors on any of the PC I installed 3.3 onto but now I have tried 3.4 on two seperate PC's and got these errors.. Anyoen else having this? Later..

Removal of CentOS 3.1 from mirrors

With the release of CentOS 3.4 the decision has been taken to remove CentOS 3.1 from the mirrors. This will save approximately 18 GB of space and make room for new architectures and CentOS 4.0 . CentOS 3.1 was superceded by CentOS 3.3 in September, and at that time a new centos-release rpm was pushed into the 3.1 tree to update users to 3.3 . The only people that wont be updated are those that may have hardcoded 3.1 into their yum.conf and for them we have been pushing updates back into the 3.1 tree. Now 3.1 is a symlink to 3.3 so that even if they have hardcoded yum.conf (dont !!) they will now get the 3.3 tree, which will make little difference as the updates were all in the 3.1 tree anyway. 3.1 was only released for i386.
