HP ML330 install

Greetings: HP has drivers for the this controler but how do you get the drivers working for the install on Centos 4.0 ? Integrated Dual Channel Ultra ATA 100 IDE Adapter (ATA Models) I extracted the files from this RPM and placed on a CD. hpacucli-7.21-17.linux.rpm boot with the driver disk option and it does not find drivers. I'm I on the right track? Thanks -Jay

yum update issue

PPTP Client and Cent 4

Constant disk activity

Hi, I am running centos on a laptop and the HD keeps on making noises every so often, even when I go to runlevel 1 and stop everything that could be doing so (hotplug, smartd, cron, anacron, atd, syslogd...). Is there any way of finding out what is accessing the disk? Not only it shortens battery life, it is annoying while working in a quiet room. I think we might be interested in trying that new kernel. I will be upgrading the Server BIOS and SCSI RAID Firmware this morning, then we'll wait and see. If that doesn't help I think are next steps will be a new kernel and a memory scan. Centos-4 Kernel pannic

Hi all, We are running a new Centos-4 server, and it has kernel panicked on us 4 times in the last month. After the first kernel panic we hooked up a serial console to the server and captured the output in order to have a record of what happens. I've included the error messages from the last time it locked up... but it doesn't really mean much to me. Anybody have any ideas what might be causing this server lock up?
