Took a little bit of pissing about under FC1 to get it working properly but then we just tar-ed everything off the internal disks onto SATA disks while we rebuilt the box. We just wanted it for JBOD which is why we plumped for the lower port capacity card but one of the cards with a higher port count should serve you well. The CLI's great (though readline support would be nice ;)). Does exactly what you'd want it to, you can rescan the bus, add and remove disks on-the-fly if they're in appropriate hot-swap bays (with one or 2 provisos for non-JBOD). Problem connecting a USB modem.

Hi I'm trying to connect a USB CDMA modem (z010) to a CentOS 4.1 (kernel 2.6.9-11.EL) and I can't talk to the modem. I tried the same modem under Fedora Core 1 (2.4.22-1.2199.nptl) and it works like a charm. The only difference is /dev/ttyACM0 for CentOS and /dev/input/ttyACM0 for the Fedora. Any help would be appreciated. Tank's. Does anyone know of a card that actually works with CentOS 4 that supports Raid10? I don't think CentOS support software raid 10 from the installer. Thanks, -Drew

OpenLDAP - building from src rpm fails (internal compiler error)

I'm trying to enable ACI in openldap by: 1) Install the source rpm (rpm -ivh http://mirrors.kernel.org/centos/4/os/SRPMS/openldap-2.2.13-2.src.rpm) 2) Modify the spec file to include '--enable-aci' in the appropriate locations. Compiling lirc on centos 4.1 - SOVLED

I used the following command to solvee the missing kernel problem. ./configure --with-port=0x3f8 --with-irq=4 --with-transmitter --enable-sandboxed --with-driver=serial --with-kerneldir=/lib/modules/2.6.9-11.EL/build Things are going much better now.. Jerry ---------- Karanbir, I am still having problems. I grabbed the rpm and installed it. I could not get a /dev/lircd device. I put the lirc.rules in /etc/udev/... even rebooted and still not there. I then grabbed the src rpm, went through the normal stuff and tried to run ./configure and it tells me I need the kernel source installed. I have the kernel source installed. I am just selecting the default of serial when I run ./configure. I would like to do this from the source package - but the kernel source keeps stopping that... Any further ideas? Adding title Windows XP rootnoverify (hd0,1) chainloader +1 to /etc/grub.conf has always worked for me on every dual boot Win2k, XP, 2k3 / linux boxes I have ever built. Install Windows first then install Linux. You do not need a kernel that has NTFS support and you don't have to play with NTLDR. I know that this goes against just about every Dual-Boot HOWTO you will find on the net. It just works. It has on every dual-boot install I have ever done. Compiling lirc on centos 4.1

Karanbir, I am still having problems. I grabbed the rpm and installed it. I could not get a /dev/lircd device. I put the lirc.rules in /etc/udev/... even rebooted and still not there. I then grabbed the src rpm, went through the normal stuff and tried to run ./configure and it tells me I need the kernel source installed. I have the kernel source installed. I am just selecting the default of serial when I run ./configure. I would like to do this from the source package - but the kernel source keeps stopping that... Any further ideas? Default session different for each user.

Can I define a default session for each user seperately? Or do they compulsorily have to follow the Default system session. If this can be done, tell me what all files need to be edited. -- "No-one dies a virgin. Life screws everyone."
