I tried creating a new partition on a disk. After the partition table was written, I got a message about the kernel still using the old partition table. How do I get whatever system to register the new partition short of rebooting the box?

XFS in Druid

squid problem

hi friends, I am using squid-2.5 and from last two days i m getting this error in cache log. i have increased ulimit from 1024 to 8192 but still i m getting error. pls give me suggestion how to overcome this problem. CentOS for s390 (release 4.3 or 4.4)

Hi, (not sure if my previous post worked) I'm using CentOS 4.2 for s390 and I'm thinking to upgrade to 4.3 or 4.4 (it is installed under an hercules emulator) Looking on the site it seems to me that these version are not available for s390 but I can see it in the ftp site as ISO image. I suppose these release as still beta. Comments from anyone that have try it ? Regards. Luca Masini.

Open Office - libIDL.x86_64 - AMD64

Hi, I am trying to install via yum group install, open office. I am having a dependancy problem. I get: /nTransaction Check Error: package libIDL-0.8.4-1.centos4 (which is newer than libIDL-0.8.4-1) is already installed yum list gives: Installed Packages libIDL.x86_64 0.8.4-1.centos4 installed Available Packages libIDL.i386 0.8.4-1 base It looks like OO is looking for the 32 bit verson of the library whereas the 64 bit verson is installed. How do I fix this? I am running the x86_64 arch. Thanks in advance Rob

how beta is ppc centos 4?

Hi there, I am looking for a rhel close to run on a PPC. I have used centos for a while and want to stick with what I know. I know there is a V4.0 PPC beta version. How safe is it to use? I have a server that will be going into production, and am hesitant to use a beta product (as one should never use anyways). What is the status of the PPC version? Is it going to be continued to be developed? Is it dropped as the macs have gone to an intel architecture? Does anyone else know of a PPC rhel clone besides centos if it is not really in dev anymore?
