Printing multiple copies in Cups

I have a cups setup for printing purpose. The problem I am facing is that it doesn't print more than 1 copy of the same document in single print command. could someone guide me how to fix this problem?. Rajeev R. Veedu

Permissions question

My www directory is owned by "apache" and the group is "todd" and the permissions are 775. My Windows computers use Samba and they log into Linux with "todd". Under the www directory there are various directories which may have a group belonging to a user e.g. "viewpoint". Using this example, there is a directory under www (acutally called httpd), "viewpoint" that is owned by "apache" and is a member of the "viewpoint" group. "todd" is also a member of the "viewpoint" group. Now this is the problem I do not know how to correct: if "todd" using Samba creates a directory in "viewpoint", the owner and group is "todd" with 755 permissions. Now if the "viewpoint" user tries to write to the directory, he does not have adequate permissions. Maybe I have not setup the owners and groups correctly. maybe there is something I need to do with how Samba interacts with the server. Any suggestions will be appreciated... X login screen fails on the first try

I set up a Centos 5 machine a couple of weeks ago and everything was working perfectly. It survived a few reboots and whatnot with no problem. I moved it to another location on Saturday afternoon and, again, it booted up and worked fine. It was rebooted this morning and now the graphical login screen doesn't appear. Everything appears to load normally but once the text login screen appears, that's it. No graphical login screen. If I log in at the text console and type startx I am told that X is already running. If I hit ctrl-alt-f7 at the text login screen I see a completely blank/black screen. If I then hit ctrl-alt-esc the graphical login screen comes up and everything works as it should. If I switch to runlevel 3 and log into the text console and type startx, my desktop shows up just as it should. There are no errors that I can see in /var/log/Xorg.0.log. Again, this all worked fine up until this morning and nothing changed. Today I rebooted it several times and I consistently get the behaviour detailed here. Sound problems on envidia 6510 in Compaq SR5110NX

I've go a Compaq Presario (SR5110NX) that I've loaded CentOS 5 on and all is well except for the sound card. I understand that OSS supports the chipset but it's not being detected an loaded properly and I've invested a significant amount of time already. I've probably got an old supported card lying around here somewhere but I hat to give up on the principal. I would rather not download the proprietary drivers as that will create a dependency when the kernel is upgraded and I'm shipping this off to a remote law office where I'd like them to be a little more self sufficient than having to have me log in and recompile each time they upgrade a kernel. Any experience or advise with this would be appreciated. Regards, Chuck

Centos5-live kernel panic?

I am fairly sure that I had gotten this to work before, and I know that the Centos4-live disk worked OK, but now (maybe since I upgraded BIOS) I get this sequence after booting the live cd: Creating /var in RAM ... Done Found Centos-live.sqfs but couldn't mount it: Linking /usr to /centos-live/usr /linuxrc: 1208: [: not found Freeing unused kernel memory: 296K freed Write protecting the kernel read-only data: 684K Kernel panic - not syncing: No init found Try passing init= option to kernel So far I: 1. checked md5 of downloaded .iso 2. burned another copy of CD w/ verify after burn using KD3 3. tried CD in a VMWare machine, and it boots up fine 4. tried failsafe boot option I am guessing that the problem goes back to the "Found centos-live.spfs but couldn't mount it" line, as this mounts OK on the VMWare machine. In case the hardware layout is confusing it, and I really do need to pass an init argument to it, my layout is: IDE 0 Master: None Slave: CD drive IDE 1 Master: CD drive Slave: hdd (windows 2000 boot) IDE 2 (SATA): sda IDE 3 (SATA): sdb IDE 4 (SATA): sdc MB is Gigabyte K8N Ultra 9 nVidia NForce 4 chipset F9c BIOS version AMD64 processor 1gb RAM Glad to supply other info if you tell me what you need and where to find it. Snort is a network IDS which examines network traffic packets, looking for the signatures of various attacks. OSSEC is host IDS which monitors logs for evidence of attacks or misuse on a host OS. PHP help required

Dear all Salam!!! i am using php+mysql for jffnms. i installed php myadmin for mysql administration. after login to phpmyadmin it says mbstring missing..... i search the yum has php-mbstring.... but when i install it using yum it says: php 4.3.9 update php-snmp update My question is if install php-mbstring, will php be effected and shows abnormal behaviour to jffnms????
