Feb 5 10:16:15 sparenode1 network: Bringing up interface eth1: failed It has been suggested that I edit out the HWADDR= contents from the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts file and restart the network. Any other/further input? 1) I'm actually not building a custom kernel per se, just one from the standard 2.6.11.4 with our configuration. I may be adding a custom driver, but unless I can get the standard kernel to boot,... 2) I have been told that after 2.6.11.4, support for the Infiniband driver is dropped, and we need that. If this is not the case, I would be delighted to know that and proceed accordingly. I'm not sure, but I believe that CentOS version 5 will not happen soon enough for what we need. Centos 4.4 NFSv4

Ladies and Gents, Having a rough time with nfsv4... Trying to mount via NFS v4 to get ACL support... I am getting this when i try to mount: NFS mount version 4 s not supported. here are my fstab options: nfs rw,hard,intr,exec,acl,mountvers=4 Nfs clients installed: nfs-utils-1.0.6-70.EL4 nfs-utils-lib-1.0.6-3 system-config-nfs-1.2.8-1 I presume I need to upgrade... how would I go about doing so? SLI 4 monitor DELL workstation and CentOS

Anyone doing Centos on SLI 4 monitor workstation? I am currently building a workstation out with Dell for this. I hope to use CentOS (x86_64) on it. Any advice or words of wisdom would be GREAT! This will be my first attempt at SLI. I have done 4 screens but AGP/PCI combos only. This one we need hardcore 3D ability on all of them. I would like to use CentOS 4.2, will atleast try it first then 4.4. Any info will be apreaciated. Once ordered I will post my success or horror story of getting CentOS going on it. Increasing existing partition and LVM size

I have a disk on which CentOS is installed and running. The disk partitions look like this: Disk /dev/sda: 42.9 GB, 42949672960 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 5221 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 * 1 13 104391 83 Linux /dev/sda2 14 1044 8281507+ 8e Linux LVM What I would like to do is increase the size of the second partition to be the entire disk, and then grow the logical volume(s) and the file systems on it. BTW, this is all on a VMware virtual disk, so I really can't screw things up, as I have a copy of the VMDK files and can start over again (and again, and again...). The disk was originally 8GB, and I just resized it with vmware-vdiskmanager. I have tried to use parted to resize the partition, but I get the message "Error: Could not detect file system.", and I can't find a way to resize the partition with fdisk and sfdisk. Am I missing something obvious or is this not doable? Thanks, Alfred

Unablce to open VNC

I have vnc working on my server when I am logged into that server. If I run vncviewer, I have a copy of the Desktop. Hwever, if I SSH into the server, I get an error. Due to my lack of experience, I am not sure what the log file means: http://209.204.172.137/misc/vnc_error.txt Could someone tell me what I am missing? qmail on CentOS 4.4

I've tried to install qmail 1.03 on CentOS 4.4 using the command: # make setup check and I received this error: ./load auto-str substdio.a error.a str.a substdio.a(substdo.o)(.text+0x43): In function `allwrite': : undefined reference to `errno' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [auto-str] Error 1 Can anyone please help? imap pop3 servers

I'm doing a complete upgrade of a server which I was using uw-imap for the imap/pop4 daemons.(This was an old RH 7.2 system and has been upgraded to CentOS 4.4 64bit) I notice there isn't an rpm at any of the repositories for this. I do pop before smpt for the remote users I have and also use procmail for calling spamc from SpamAssassin. Is there some place I can get uw's imap or do I need to settle for using something like Dovecot? (Which doesn't support procmail AFAICT) Also I did do a search and read the wiki for CentOS and just about everyplace I could think of.
