Folks - FYI: I finally got it to work (at least once)! reboot=bios,smp,warm Since I didn't actually TRY 'reboot=triple', I, of course, am wondering if 'reboot=triple' is synonymous for 'reboot=bios,smp,warm' ... Mmmmm - masochism!!! A co-worker pointed me to this: /usr/share/doc/kernel-doc-2.6.9/Documentation/kernel-parameters.txt Specifically: reboot= [BUGS=IA-32,BUGS=ARM,BUGS=IA-64] Rebooting mode Format: <reboot_mode>[,<reboot_mode2>[,...]] See arch/*/kernel/reboot.c or arch/*/kernel/process.c BUT - I don't have either 'reboot.c' or 'process.c' (ARG!) So ... after a TON of googling I found references to various combinations of the three, but not all three together. It works!!! PowerDNS binaries on centosplus?

Hi everyone, How does one go about putting a request for getting a package included in centosplus? We are heavy users the product PowerDNS and are keen to see that be included in the centosplus repository, so it can be compiled against other recent packages like MySQL5 etc. Any pointers will be helpful -- "I never look back darling, it distracts from the now", Edna Mode (The Incredibles)

VT-x or AMD-V capable machines

Does anyone know how to tell if a machine is VT-x or AMD-V capable before I buy it? I have read some mailing list stuff that even if the processor is capable, sometimes it is disabled in the BIOS, with no way to enable it. I think HP was/is doing this. Hi everybody I have setting my ldap server. But I created an certificate with the following command: cd /usr/share/ssl/certs; make ldap.pem Then edit slapd.conf file a insert the following lines: TLSCipherSuite HIGH:MEDIUM:+SSLv2 TLSCACertificateFile /usr/share/ssl/certs/ldap.pem TLSCertificateFile /usr/share/ssl/certs/ldap.pem TLSCertificateKeyFile /usr/share/ssl/certs/ldap.pem I restart the service. Then, I run the comando authconfig and I select ldap with tls. DHCP Messages

Hi, Im getting this messages in the /var/log/messages about my dhcp server. I assume there is nothing to worry about, but just in case I have to ask. Are these messages fine? Kickstart Installation - Is it possible to set a fixed IP for installation?

Hi everyone, I am trying to set up an automated CentOS installation system. My idea is to use PXE to boot the kernel/initrd and pass the kickstart options to the kernel from there. This works correctly until it boots up Linux. As soon as it does that it makes a DHCP request and, unsurprisingly, it gets the same one (same MAC) but it also gets the filename and next-server details. Then Anaconda tries to use those details instead of the ones I specified on the command line. You can see on one of the other VTs that it is trying to load /pxelinux.0 instead of using http://server/1.ks. I can see three possible solutions for this: -Forcing (somehow) Anaconda to use a fixed IP address (possibly via a %pre script?), or, at least, making it use the kickstart file that gets passed from pxelinux. -Configuring the DHCP server so it knows how to differentiate between requests (not too sure on how to do it yet). -Doing a complete hack. When it gets the second request, it tries to access nfs:/server:/pxeboot.0. I could create the NFS share and add the file there, maybe symlinked to the right one, but it would stop me from being able to have different installations selectable from pxelinux. My ideal solution would be the first, as the other two seem to be workarounds, more than solutions. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am having below 3 rules for Logging with iptables . They are INPUT,FORWARD and OUTPUT chains. #Log INPUT chain iptables -A INPUT -j LOG --log-level 7 --log-prefix "INPUT: " #Log FORWARD chain iptables -A FORWARD -j LOG --log-level 7 --log-prefix "FORWARD: " #Log OUTPUT chain iptables -A OUTPUT -j LOG --log-level 7 --log-prefix "OUTPUT: " In addition to that, I want to have logging for POSTROUTING,PREROUTING and mangle. I am interested in getting Openpbx up on Centos. The install information is at http://wiki.openpbx.org/tiki-index.php?page=Getting+Started And it is quite a bit beyond my current skills, so I am looking for some one that has done it and can help step me through it. I want Openpbx over AsteriskNow or Trixbox to get T.38 support.
