find-requires on rpmbuild

Dear all, It may be not problem of CentOS, but I need your help. I am using CentOS 5. It is very good distribution. When I build rpms from src.rpm using icc(intel C compiler), Some shared objects' requirements contain path of .so files. For example, in case of libjpeg, Requires: .libs/libjpeg.so()(64bit) libc.so.6()(64bit) ... should be Requires: libjpeg.so()(64bit) libc.so.6()(64bit) ... I think the extra path can be removed using basename command. But I have no idea where I should insert it. ( /usr/lib/rpm/find-requires is not call from rpmbuild? ) Thank you in advance.

Sylpheed-Claws aka Claws-Mail

Question! I took the spec from Claws-Mail (formerly called Sylpheed-Claws) of FC6 and updated it from 2.9.0 to 2.9.1 (correctly I believe). I created the rpms from the build and I suppose I will sign them and put them up on kuei-jin.org. My question is, should I give them to someone to see if what I did is correct? QA?? I didn't edit any source or anything. I know that it works because I installed it on my machine and it's fetching mail right now. I had to rebuild libetpan as well. That spec file was really simple and didn't require me to change anything other than the version number. I left everything else the same. I have srpms and debugintfo and devel packages that can be retrieved from my website if anyone wants to look at it. In hind sight, I may not have needed to rebuild lietpan but I did for the sake of completeness. I like sylpheed, there was no other pressing reason for me to bother with making the packages though. Squirrelmail Change Password Plugin Problem

Hi, I have recently setup CENTOS ver.4.4 as our mail server and I have installed Squirrelmail as our Mail User Agent. Everything seems to be working fine but I encountered problems in one of the plugins of Squirrelmail which is the Change Password plugins that changes the password in the shadow file. The change password function doesn't seems to work because Squirrelmail replies an error message that does not allow the change password function to change the password of the users. My first guess is because of the file security setting and I can't seems to go around this. One thing I notice though is that when the file is inside the /var/www/html/ directory, the php scripts that I have tried to edit a file seems to work but if the file is outside this directory just in the case of the shadow file which is located at /etc/ directory it doesn't seems to work or it does not allow the file to be modified. Can you please help with this? I would really appreciated your help.

usermod and useradd errors

I am not sure if anyone else has run into this, but i did today when setting upo a samba server. http://lists.gobolinux.org/pipermail/gobolinux-users/2007-February/004413.h… In an nutshell you get an error like: "usermod: invalid numeric argument", or the user groups are never assigned, etc. So I have been managing manually. I get the exact same symptoms, etc (but doing things like appending groups, etc). Apparently it can be fixed by downgrading Shadow package to 4.0.17, however with a quick little "rpm -qa | grep shadow", I can see the version with Centos 5 is shadow-utils-4.0.17-12.el5. I have not spent much time digging in deeper as of yet, but wanted ot see if any others have had this issue in Centos 5. DK

Dumb question (KDE Trash Can)

Hi All, I've got a really dumb question. I seem to have lost my Trash Can on my KDE desktop and try and as I might I can't get it back. Anyone have any idea how I can create this again or get it back?
