I looked on the mirrors and could not find rpmdevtools. yum install rpmdevtools does not install it either. Where can I find rmpdevtools? centos 5 with mplayer and xv driver - solved

Any way to run openssh daemon on a kickstart client (stage2)?

Hi, Any one have succeeded in firing up a sshd daemon when a machine is being kickstarted? I know VNC can be setup to minitor the kickstart process, but it is too limited and so I can not see the console and other screens with ALT+Fn keys. If sshd daemon can be setup at this stage, then we can remotely ssh into the being kickstarted client(s). and directly see what things happen during %pre, %post and other stages. cannot label a lightscribe disk

Hi I am having problems labelling a lightscribe disc in a Lacie USB2.0 interface CD/DVDW. I am running CENTOS 5.0 I can read and write cds and DVDs including DLs without any problems. Both xcdroast and k3b detect the unit as TSSTcorp-CD/DVDW SH-S162L Lacie's 4L software unfortunately doesn't detect any unit with either the gui interface or the cli interface. Oddity with 4.5 and linode.com

I just did a "yum update" on my linode instance to update from 4.4 to 4.5. That worked just fine. But on reboot it took 3 minutes to do the "checking for new hardware" stage. I initially thought that's because of a new release, so I did another reboot. That also took 2 minutes. OK, a minor issue (I don't reboot often) but... dunno if this is a UML issue or a linode specific issue, but 2 minutes in kudzu is a little odd! -- rgds Stephen
